Continuing the Torah Project series in Genesis, we focus on Laban as the context for discussions regarding false teachers and an important principle regarding good words from a wicked person. We also ask the question, “What are the dynamics of sharing a ‘word’ from the Lord with others?” and we look into the concept of ownership. Can we truly “own” anything? In pursuit of this answer, we discuss the curious lack of the verb “to have” in Hebrew.
