Consisting mostly of the Song of Moses, this week’s portion begins with the instruction to listen (or “give ear”) and contains the beginning of Moses’ farewell speech to the Israelites. He has come to the end of his days, and he leaves his people with a song that expresses in poetic form the relationship between the God of righteousness and His often wayward people.
