Haf. Mikeitz (Zechariah 2:10 – 4:7)

Join Beth Tikkun as we continue our study of the Haftarah portions for the 2013-14 Torah cycle. The normal haftarah portion for the week of Mikeitz is found in 1 Kings, but since this Sabbath falls during the week of Hanukkah we study the traditional Hanukkah haftarah which is found in Zechariah. We first look at how some believers have the tendency to take up the cloak of a prophet without having a prophet’s calling. We then look into Zechariah’s night vision of Joshua the High Priest who is wearing filthy garments and the vision of the golden menorah.
