Vayeitzei 2018-19

After a brief overview of the main topics in Vayeitzei, we explore the curious Aramaic word “memra” which occurs in the ancient Aramaic translation of this parshah and which John makes reference to in his gospel. Moving on, we reflect on Jacob’s interactions with the character named “Red” and a new character named “White.” Lastly, while reflecting upon the births of Jacob’s 12 sons, we focus in on the name “Joseph,” applying this name to the Messiah.
