After five chapters have elapsed from the deaths of Nadav and Avihu, curiously, the text snaps back to what God told Moses after that tragedy. Why insert these five chapters into the narrative? In discussing this question, we dip into the topic of “chukot,” commandments that evade our understanding. Later in the teaching we look at four representations of Yeshua in the Yom Kippur service, three words for “sin,” and sins leading to the fall of empires.
