Emor/Behar 2022

We begin this week with a difficult question: we are told to not associate with certain types of people caught in the web of weighty sin, but what do we do if a family member is such a person? After applying a passage from the portion to this difficult question, we turn our focus to blemishes – characteristics that disqualify a priest from offering sacrifices. What spiritual blemishes do these physical imperfections imply? Concerning the Lev. 23 listing of appointed times, we focus on a curious verse that separates the spring and fall mo’edim.
