    Schalom Beth Tikkun !

According to this week’s Toah Portion I noticed something that astonished me:
I read in Hebr. 9, Verses 3 and 4: “Behind the second curtain was a second section3 called the Most Holy Place, 4 having the golden altar of incense and the ark of the covenant. . . ”
So – where is the altar of incense? What is this telling us?

much love, be blessed in the Lord

Dear Angnes, The solution to this problem is simply that the Greek is mistranslated. The word “altar” (of incense) should be translated “censor”. What is being described here is the day of Yom Kippur when the High Priest would take a golden censor (actually a golden shovel with hot coals on it) and burn incense in the Holy of Holies before the ark of the covenant.

      Make sense?

      Shalom,
      Grant

Coming to this weeks portion Terumah
It is interesting how the word is similar to Teruah and it gives me a sense of something rising up the voice or the offering. It speaks to me of God hearing both so there is a connection between him and I/us/community
It is also separated/holy to God
    It is voluntary/freewill
    Everyone gives the same value
Someone can tell you you have brought enough
Just learning about it is reaching my inner being
I am continuing to look at the others with delight
When your heart is willing to give up the most costly thing and burn it on the altar, is it then that you enter the holy/separated of holy/separated makowm?
