In this Torah Project teaching, we focus on Jacob’s deathbed blessing of his 12 sons. As we explore this fascinating passage, we bring together the characteristics of the sons, the histories of the tribes descended from them gleaned from both the Scriptures and tradition, and the insights of the Jewish sages. Along the way, we ask the question, “Which tribe most represents me?” as we continue to draw from Israel’s example both warnings and encouragements for how we are to live out our own lives.
