1 Timothy 5

We continue our reading of 1 Timothy, this week unpacking chapter 5. Before addressing the text, however, we hear about Grant’s recent trip to the brothers and sisters in South Africa. Moving to 1 Timothy 5, we first note Paul’s formula for community respect before commenting upon the various situations of widows mentioned in the chapter, with a special topical focus on the “elect angels” of verse 21.
