Haf. Pekudei-Shemini (1 Kings 7:51-8:21/2 Samuel 6:1-7:17)
Join Beth Tikkun as we continue our study of the Haftarah portions for the 2013-14 Torah cycle. (In this study we combine two Haftarah portions for reasons described in the teaching.) We look at Solomon’s moving of the Ark into the Temple and analyze why the Holy of Holies is referred to in three different ways. We then compare how David, when moving of the Ark to Jerusalem a generation earlier, made two grave errors and how these same failures are occur today.

how could Michal have reacted differently toward the man whose life she had protected, the one she had loved so dearly but who now embarrassed her? What could she have done so as not to bring a curse upon herself?
Is this incident an example of a “cautionary tale”?

Charlotte, I think Michal’s error was that “she despised him in her heart”. Had she controlled her temperament she would have addressed him differently. She seems to have operated out of the ego instead of humility. Just a thought!
