Haf. Yitro (Isaiah 6:1-7:6; 9:5-6)
Join Beth Tikkun as we continue our study of the Haftarah portions for the 2013-14 Torah cycle. In this study we read and analyze Isaiah’s vision of God’s throne through Hebrew eyes. We ‘decode’ the rich symbolism of the Seraphim as they touch the coal to Isaiah’s lips, their proclamation of “Holy – Holy – Holy”, the significance of the hem of God’s robe, and the moving of the Temple’s threshold. We also look at the inconsistency of Jewish commentaries on Isaiah 9:5-6 “For unto us a child is born…”
