The Shofar – Weapon of Light

Join Beth Tikkun for a special Rosh Hashanah teaching. We begin with the Hebrew name for this holiday, “teruah,” finding an unusual association in the Hebrew root. In the main body of the teaching, we connect the Akeidah – the Binding of Isaac – to this special day primarily through the overlooked detail that the ram of this story is caught by one horn, not two. Moving on, we relate the process of making a shofar to our own life journeys. Finally, we read the first meditation in 10 Days at 10 Gates, a free resource for the ten Days of Awe from Rosh Hashanah to Yom Kippur.
